Justify Colt Leads The Way For Bowness Stud
Offered by Bowness Stud the colt was purchased by in form syndication outfit Bennett Racing in conjunction with leading trainer Ciaron Maher.
“He was a lovely colt by a stallion that’s really going well,” Nathan Bennett said. “Ciaron knows a lot about the family and he will head there to be trained.”
Bennett said the colt wouldn’t be an early two-year-old and would instead develop into a lovely colt for his classic year.
Bennett Racing and Ciaron Maher recently teamed up to win the Group One Australian Guineas with former Magic Millions Yearling purchase Southport Tycoon.
“We’ve had a great sale. The nice horses have sold well and we’re very happy overall,” Daly said.
“We were very happy with the price (for the Justify colt). We thought it was a solid price for him.”
This colt’s dam Full Of Beans is a half-sister to Group 2 winner Spill The Beans (Snitzel) and to Maher’s dual Group 1 winner Kenedna (Not A Single Doubt).
“When he was in the pre-parade ring, he just presented himself so well and every time he came out he presented himself well.”
The colt is bred on the same Justify over Fastnet Rock line mare as Golden Slipper favourite Storm Boy, which Bennett noted was another attribute they warmed to.
“He’s bred on a good farm and obviously a fantastic cross with the Justify’s over the Fastnet line through the roof.” he said.
“He ticked every box. We thought we might have to go a bit harder, we thought we got him at great value. We’re really excited about the colt.
“Ciaron knows the family well, they had Kenedna and a fair bit of success there. He’s got the pedigree he’s got the looks and he’s also got the attitude as well.”
Having consigned a draft of ten yearlings, nine of them found new homes.
