2020 yearling sale series starts with a bang for Bowness Stud
The 2020 yearling sale series commenced with a bang for Bowness Stud when our very first Lot offered at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale was sold to Coolmore Australia principal Tom Magnier for $500,000.
A quality colt by Zoustar from You’re Dreamin’, a metropolitan winning daughter of Commands, Lot 51 met with a very great deal of interest as soon as he arrived on the Bundall sales complex and became the focus of a keen bidding duel within the initial couple of hours of the four-day bloodstock assembly.
In the end, it was Tom Magnier who won out, taking home the maternal great-grandson of Group 1 AJC Oaks winner La Souvronne.
The Zoustar colt proved to be one of six members of Bowness Stud’s 2020 MMGC draft to realise six-figures. First-crop sons of Capitalist (Lots 426 & 430), Divine Prophet (Lot 657) and Extreme Choice (Lot 699) all made $100,000 or more, as well as a son of the boom young stallion Deep Field catalogued as Lot 395.
A further two successful sales made during Sunday’s Book 2 session saw Bowness Stud end the 2020 renewal of the Gold Coast Yearling Sale with the ledger reading nine Lots offered, eight Lots sold, for an aggregate of $1,192,500 and an average of $149,063.
Included in Bowness Stud’s eight yearlings to have been sold was an Extreme Choice half-brother to Indian Pacific, one of the most exciting young gallopers in Perth racing. A 3-year-old son of Zoustar unbeaten in his only two starts to date, Indian Pacific is trained out of the Neville Parnham stable at Ascot and is the latest running advertisement for Bowness Stud’s very successful breeding program.
