Indian Pacific a new Bowness stakes winner

Indian Pacific became the latest stakes winner bred and sold by Bowness Stud when landing the Listed WATC RS Crawford Stakes (1000m) at Ascot in Western Australia.

A 4-year-old son of Zoustar trained by Neville Parnham, Indian Pacific was having his first start since July and enhanced a brilliant winning strike rate which now reads six wins and two thirds from just eight starts.

Indian Pacific was a member of Bowness Stud’s 2018 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale draft where he was knocked-down to Parnhams Racing for $110,000. His latest victory saw him take his earnings to $222,560.

Indian Pacific is the second stakes horse produced by Rosarino (by Perugino), herself the winner of the Listed VRC Talindert Stakes as a 2-year-old. The second-dam of Saturday’s Crawford Stakes winner is the Group 3 VRC Merson Cooper Stakes winner Rosa’s Joy (by Rory’s Jester).

The maiden stakes race victory of Indian Pacific came just a week after the Group 2 MRC Herbert Power Stakes victory of fellow Bowness Stud-bred and -sold Chapada, and two weeks after the Group 1 Epsom Handicap placing of Funstar, another Bowness Stud sales graduate.
